Bobby Brown seeking guardianship of Bobbi Kristina's estate

R&B star Bobby Brown has filed legal papers seeking guardianship of his daughter Bobbi Kristina's estate as she continues to fight for her life following a near-drowning incident in January. Brown's only child with the late Whitney Houston remains under doctors' care in Atlanta, almost three months after she was found faced down and unconscious in a bathtub at her Roswell home.

The 22-year-old's maternal grandmother, Cissy Houston, recently revealed the aspiring actress is still unresponsive and has suffered irreversible brain damage, and now Brown has asked a Georgia judge to place him in charge of his daughter's estate, according to 11alive.com, a news affiliate of America's NBC network.

Cissy Houston's attorney, David W. Long, has since responded to Brown's filing, stating: "This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina's sensitive health information.

"The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective."

Bobbi Kristina is currently receiving treatment at the DeKalb Medical Center, a longterm rehabilitation facility, following her move from Atlanta's Emory University Hospital."
