 Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The new Managing Director is the eldest son of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, in Abuja in Wednesday, said Alhaji Sanusi, a lawyer, from Kano State takes over from Mallam Habib Abdullahi who has been relieved of his appointment as Managing Director of the NPA.

LASU Students Plead With Management, Fashola To Re-Open School

The students of Lagos State University, LASU has pleaded with the school management and the Lagos State Governor to please re-open the university so that they can continue with their academic activities. The management of the institution had on March 25, 2015 shut down the school in a statement titled ‘Election recess,’ where the students and workers were asked to vacate the university premises. It however added that a resumption date will be announced later on.

But the students are saying it’s now a month and four days and they are suspecting the management are not willing to re-open the school despite that the elections are very much over.

More than 200 schoolgirls abducted from their school dormitories by Boko Haram militants last year are not among the nearly 300 girls and women rescued in an army operation on Tuesday, an army spokesman said.

Nigeria's army said it had rescued 200 girls and 93 women on Tuesday during a military operation to wrest back the Sambisa Forest in the northeast from the militant group.
