Angry Protesters Brutally Attack Police Woman Accused Of Shooting Protester In Burundi (See Photos)

Demonstrators turned on a policewoman they accused of shooting a protester in Burundi's capital, Bujumbura, reports the Reuters news agency.

Protesters beat and stoned the policewoman before she was handed back to the police. Citizens of Burundi have taken to the streets to protest their presidents decision to run for a third term.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called for a total overhaul of the police and other security agencies in Ekiti State over their failure to tackle kidnapping and other crimes in the state.

The Nation gathered that panic has gripped health workers in the state following a reported threat from suspected leaders of a kidnapping syndicate that seven more medical professionals would be abducted.

At least 14 medical doctors are expected to appear before the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal for offences ranging from improper conduct to negligence of duty.

The tribunal has the status of a High Court as its judgment can be appealed only before the Court of Appeal.
The doctor treating the ailing Taraba Governor Danbaba Suntai was among the doctors to be arraigned at the sixth sitting of the tribunal.

A 14-year-old girl, Jibola (pseudonym), has said she willingly had sex in a hotel on Omotolu Street, Amukoko, Lagos State, with one Abib Muftau, who had been dating her since 2014.

The girl made the confession after the police arrested 19-year-old Muftau, for unlawfully having a carnal knowledge of her.
