A 33-year-old trailer driver, who reportedly stabbed his friend to death on Monday night at Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State, has confessed that his action was a mistake he regretted.It was learned that the suspect, identified as Tunde Azeez, allegedly stabbed Lukmon Ayedun with a broken bottle at 8:42pm during a brawl.

NDLEA arrests pastor attempting to smuggle drugs to South Africa

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday said it had arrested a pastor who had allegedly wanted to smuggle 1.978 kilogrammes of substances suspected to be narcotics to South Africa.

The suspect, a pastor with the Gospel Faith Mission International, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, was arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) Enugu.

Central Africa to sue French soldiers accused of abusing children

The Central African Republic will take legal action against the French soldiers accused of raping children in exchange for food at a refugee camp, the country's justice minister said Wednesday.

"Legal action will be pursued... These are still very serious acts," said Justice Minister Aristide Sokambi, insisting his nation was not targeting France but individual soldiers.

A 60-year-old Nigerian- UK based doctor, Emmanuel Edet, and his wife, Antan Edet, a 58-year-old a senior hospital nurse, are currently facing trial in Britain for allegedly smuggling a young man named  Mr. Ofonime Inukinto London and turning him into their slave in their home for 24 years.

Mr. Inuk now 39 says he started living with the couple as a houseboy in Lagos at the age of 12 before the family moved to Israel while he was 14.  The medical couple later moved to London with him by changing his name to their surname and falsely adding him to their passports, it is alleged.

Singer Errol Brown Dies At 71

The front man of British soul band Hot Chocolate, Errol Brown, known for the 1975 hit “You Sexy Thing,” has died at age 71. The singer passed away at his home in the Bahamas after battling liver cancer, Sky News reported on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

His manager, Phil Dale, told the U.K. TV station that Brown was “a wonderful gentleman,” adding, There was always music around wherever he was.”
